The Great American Stockcar Series (GASS) is a Portland based racing league in which the cars are designed, built and prepared at Evans Metal Fab on Swan Island and transported by the series itself.

Drivers effectively rent the cars and can contest either individual races or an entire seven race championship. GASS will have 3 races at the new Iowa Speedway, a 7/8 mile tri-oval designed by Rusty Wallace located in Newton, Iowa. Midway through the 2010 season GASS will race as the lead in race for NASCAR K&N Pro Series at Portland International Raceway July 17-18 along with SCRS and PRO3. To finish out the season GASS will race 3 more times at Iowa Speedway.

The series is designed for a variety of skill levels and provides a rare opportunity to get behind the wheel of a purpose built race car. All interested drivers must be 45 years of age or older, go through our driving school and pass, and be willing to be part of a quickly growing series that now features its own TV show aired Nationally on Fox Sports Net in Q3 and Q4 2010.

Those interested in racing or just want more information should refer to the GASS link in the sponsors column of this website or just go to www.GASSTV.com

While the NASCAR K&N Pro Series represents NASCAR's future, NASCAR's historic past will also be on prominent display.

Retired Winston Cup and Nextel Cup cars will return to the track as a part of the Bi-Mart 125 weekend. Cars once driven by Jeff Gordon, Bill Elliott, Terry Labonte, and many other top drivers will be raced against one another. While the cars have been retired from Cup racing, they are still raced hard on a handful of occasions during the race season. The cars are still in their original paint schemes, and will be immediately recognizable to even the most casual of fans. Whether on the track, or seen parked on display, these cars are sure to be a very popular part of the race weekend.

The Stock Car Race Series (SCRS) will be on track at PIR both days, July 17th and 18th, with races on Saturday and Sunday. There will be many opportunities for photographs of these historic cars, as well as the chance to meet the current owners and drivers.

PRO3 has been racing in the Pacific Northwest since 2003 and are excited to participate in the 2010 BI-MART Salute to the Troops 125 at Portland International Raceway.

PRO3 is a spec racing class based on the rugged and readily available BMW 325i that was manufactured for the North American market between 1987 and 1991. It is the intent of the PRO3 class to create a restrictive formula for BMW cars which emphasize driver ability with only a short list of performance modifications allowed. This formula has led to large PRO3 grids and exciting racing.
