Can you tell me more about the support races?
The Great American Stockcar Series (GASS) is a Portland based racing league in which the cars are built, prepared, and transported by the series itself. Drivers effectively rent the cars and can contest either individual races or an entire seven race championship. The series is designed for a variety of skill levels and provides a rare opportunity to get behind the wheel of a purpose built race car. Those interested in racing should refer to the link to the GASS series on the home page of this website or just go to
www.gasstv.com.
The Stock Car Race Series (SCRS) is a historic racing series for retired Winston/Sprint Cup cars, all raced in their original paint schemes. While the cars are worthy of museums, the SCRS will have two races during the race weekend. Expect to see cars once raced by Jeff Gordon, Terry Labonte, Bill Elliott, Darrel Waltrip, and Jeff Burton among others. The series is very popular at vintage events, and is sure to be a memorable addition to the race weekend.
